19th Annual Mother's Day Truck Convoy
On Sunday May 11, 2008 the 19th Annual Mother's Day Truck Convoy was held to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Scheid Produce Inc., participated for the 7th straight year, by having two trucks with a Make-A-Wish child on board. These trucks were driven by William Pennell and Dale "Lefty" Martin. This year was a convoy of 381 trucks that drove from Lancaster to Ephrata and back. This event is one of the main fundraisers for Make-A-Wish Foundation and it raises money to grant wishes for sick children.
